NEMOS CAR - League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Resin kits on Ebay.
Posted by treehuggerdave on Monday, November 30, 2020 6:42 PM

This was my HOLY GRAIL for 15 years until I was surfing on Ebay in December of 2018 and it suddenly "POPPED" up in front of me when the seller had downloaded this as a BUY IT NOW.

I sat there stunned for about 20 seconds, and then hit the buy it now.

The model was purchased by the guy I bought it from directly from Japan when it first came out and the clear celophane seal was never broken.

The guy who owned it lived a half hour from me and I was on his way to work every day, so he hand delivered it to my door.

This was a blast to assemble, and although the real cars trim was just a silver color, the trim in the kit was a black chrome and a bronze chrome - too beautiful to change.

The interior was engraved like the the exterior pieces, but wasn't chromed, so I used"FOIL" to inhance the engraving and used a bronze burnishing metalizer paint, and buffed it to match the exterior trim.

This is a big model. It's 1/24 scale and 11 inches long.

The carvings and engravings all over the car on the massive pieces on the front fenders, door handles, and the embossed engravings all over the car are mostly elephant heads and some cows also.

Thanks for looking.

Turned out really nice.  I do recall seeing that car in the movie but never the model.  That is a mile of hood!

Thanks,

John

That is too cool. A really nice job, and fun to look at. Thanks for posting. I suppose I’m one of the few people on earth that enjoyed the movie.

I don't see too many car builds that get me excited, but this just knocks my socks off!

Dave, when you found this kit, you struck gold. Thanks for sharing.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

That's super cool. I did not realize they did a kit of this. I will have to keep my eyes open. Well done and it looks amazing.

I just finished "SNOOPING" around on EBAY and found 3 resen kits that are copies of the kit I assembled for sale at a really reduced price, compared to mine.

Just not originals if your in to that.

Here's the info in case anyone is interested.
