I'm not sure if this would interest you, but clear acetate for overhead projectors is very, very thin, usually crystal clear, and can simple arc's like a front windshield fairly easy; compound or sharp curves are not something this works well for. You can normally get it at an office store in 8x11 sheet multi-packets. Some stores even offer tinted colors(?) which could open up ideas for other future models.
If you have a copy or mold (buck) to stretch or vacuform clear modeling plastic over it can also be used once polished and clear coated (or not).
