Cruising;
Checking out the toy department for LEGO. They didn't have much and not what I wanted. Turned to walk down the aisle. At the end, Piled higher than I am tall. Not just any, now mind you. Model cars! ! Very early releases from the time when Round 2 took over the bunch. This time I found two that have eluded me for years.
Not this time though! I pulled the trigger on two.The Jeepster model "Mount'n Goat" and the 1986 Chevy ElCamino, with little Dirt Bike? sadly, when I got home and dug into my prizes( well,for me anyway) I discovered two models whose molds hadn't seen any signs of upgrades nor clean - up.
Plus, and to most, the killer. They were molded in color! The Jeepster in a Metallic like dark blue and the El Camino ( SS) in what they called " Pearl Black" Looks like Anthracite to me. Anyway,I don't care ! I know how to use primer and the moldings? Well, while cleaning up the parts I wish I would've had Aero-Smith on the radio.Would've been perfect.
I am gonna have fun with these. The Jeepster had parts that Must've been for an extended top. The El Camino definitely Cannot be built except as the "SS" model. No stock grille and headlights included. But I finally got them ! Yay!!
Although the Jeep tires didn't have any markings on them Tampo printed, they were there as proud as can be. Now the Cammy's tires were Tampo Printed. so. good there.The others will be done with a dry brush in Floquil white. Told you I still had some of that stuff!
