An old model
Posted by freeclear2001 on Sunday, January 3, 2021 11:36 AM

Hi everyone ,not posted here before but I have a question,I have seen many old kits in the magazine scale auto but one I have never seen is a kit I own but never got to build.It was a kit of a car that you could buld as a stock build or a demolition derby car,I don't remember who made it or what car it was of,this was 40+ years ago when I was around 8 or 9 but I bought it between 1968-1970 time period.i think it might have been a mid 60s dodge dart or maybe a Ford falcon thou not sure on either accounts.If anyone else knows of or maybe had the kit themselves I would sure appreciate if you could jar my old memory on what this was.thanks freeclear2001

Welcome to the Forums. Glad to have you with us.

I bought a couple of those a long, long time ago. Still have one of the bodies for the demolition version. It was a 1/32 Aurora kit made in 1966. It's a Ford fairlane 2-door. Body is nicely beaten up and looks like a lot of the cars I saw at demolition derbies back then. The site "Scalemates" might be able to help you in finding the kit and what it would cost today. Let us know how you make out.

I had an idea for a diorama using a couple of them but it never worked out. The body and some of the parts I scavanged for it are still in a box waiting to be worked on. Maybe some day.

Hi;

 Create a 1/32 crash dio with Police cars and a Tow truck.That would work well for that!

That was my second choice TB. My first was a demilition derby dio with 3 or 4 cars and a lot of dirt and dust. Wink
