You expect me to like this? This,This, old dirty Truck? Well, Shoot! I think she looks Outstanding and Real. Darned good Job if'n I gotta say so meself!
JET, that is REALLY well done. The weathering looks very realistic and "to scale". Nice photograpty too, thanks for sharing.
goldhammer, years ago when we had a similar rash of tailgate thefts a police officer told us the tailgates were being shipped south of the border. He said they would be opened up, loaded with drugs, resprayed and installed on a truck to head back north.

wpwar11 Very well done. Did you use oils for weathering? How did you chip the paint? Pencils? Hairspray?

thanks, yes oil paints and I paint the chipping on with a brush. I also paint by rolling a Qtip soaked in thinner and oil paint to get the color variety in the base color.
I have tried some of those new popular techniques in the past and found they took way longer to do just to get the same results as the way I've always done it lol.
I don't use anything fancy just Craft acrylics and Winsor & newton oil paints.
Being a long time owner of a sqaure body, I approve. Well done. Needs more rust on the cab corners and wheel openings. LOL, just kidding. It looks great.

Great looking build. I really like the weathering - I too like the tailgate.
Thanks,
John
Nice well worn rig. Beautiful touch with the wrecking yard tailgate, and the misaligned hood.
I remember back in the day, a rash of tailgate thefts in our area on GM's. Only took a minute to make one disappear. The one on my '75 went for a walk one night.
First build finished for 2021, Revell snow plow kit built curbside, tire decals are from powerslide.
