Hello all,
My next project. I never really cared for AMC cars, but my son picked this up for me, so I figured I would build it. I'm thinking Lime Green and Black Two-tone for the body, with a darker green interior.
On thing is perplexing me though. The ribbed part below is on the chrome sprue, but cannot be found anywhere in the instructions, nor pictured on the box. I'm thinking some kind of engine covering, but it is too big for the scale of the model. Anyone have any ideas?
thanks,
Mike
Nice project. No idea what that part is . I hope someone does as I'm super curious now.
Thanks,
John
Having owned several Gremlins over the years, with two in the yard, that part has nothing to do with the car.
Nothing is impossible as long as somebody else has to do it.
I just finished my Gremlin with a Lambroghini V-12 rear engine; I wonder if that part could be a roof mount luggage shell from the original release, sort of a sporty option. Enjoy your build.

Priority: If it can't wait, it should have already been done; if it hasn't been done, it can wait.
maybe the grill from this version?
That's probably it. Looks like it does extend below the bumper and it does have a slight taper to it.
Did you build that version?
No, I was poking around on the web. Couldn't let it go lol
True sign of a scale model addict!
keavdog No, I was poking around on the web. Couldn't let it go lol
I'm sure happy to know I'm not the only one who does that!
Some progress pics. Primer on body and interior bucket. Engine work progressing.
Decided to try a little upholstery for the first time.
Turned out OK, I guess.
I may try to add carpeting.
Added some carpeting.
Looks pretty good with the upholstery. I like the contrast.
Mike, the small tire cover in your second picture is for an inflatable spare tire. The flat spot should face to the rear. It has a small snap the attaches to the rear panel.
