Hasegawa Porsche 962...disappointing kit!
Posted by philo426 on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 4:20 PM

Opened up my Hasegawa Porsche 962. And was disappointed to see that is had no engine nor suspension detail!I was expecting Tamiya level full detail kit!It was not cheap either! The only way to make it remotely interesting was to paint it in Gulf Colors!

One of the all time great liveries and a classic racer.   Too bad about the kit lack of detail.

Looks good - and sexy lines.  Tamiya have many curbside kits - you have to read the fineprint/reviews.  I just picked up two without looking... still nice looking cars.

The Toyota GT-One is a super kit with great engine detail.

Thanks,

John

Tamiya makes an excellent 1/24 scale Porsche 956 kit, "Rothmans" livery, with full engine and suspension detail. Differences between a 956 and 962 are very minor (turbo locations, front wheel/ door spacing, wing variations). I slaped one together between my childhood and senior years with no intention of getting back into scale modeling, I was a big IMSA/ Camel GT fan in the '80's and just wanted a 956/962 to display in my office. it was an excellent kit that you can still pick up on eBay for $50 - $60.
