No, this isn't a "Jimmy Flintstone body."
I built this long before his came out.
This is a part resin and part plastic body. I started with an R&R Vacuum Craft body that was just terrible, but it had all the "bones" for a fun project. I already had several plastic Edsel kits with a great front and beautiful chrome, so I chopped off the front of the resin kit halfway through the front windshield, and did the same to the plastic kit, and I married the 2 together.
The only problem was that the resin body didn't have the chrome molding going from the front fender into the doors, so I added that and it came out pretty good, and I foiled it.
The hood was already open, so I hinged it, and used some aftermarket decals for the engine, and some aftermarket photoetch for the body script.
Click on the images several times and they look better.
Pretty front end.

Been a "Plastholic" all my life. Love this stuff.
Oho! Nice touch there.
I like all forms of wagons of course with the 57 Country Squire being my all time favorite. The 64 was a close second. Even with the body style changes there was still something about Wagons that set them apart!
Nice job on the surgery! Engine bay looks stellar
Thanks,
John
That is so cool!
Like a good photograph, a good model (or a picture of one) sometimes (or perhaps rarely) conveys a mood or a feeling. This one does that for me.
Beautiful!

Very nice work. IIRC, the ford family just put one up for sale not too long ago. Would be nice to be in a position to bid on it.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.
Awesome, really well done and the "wide whites" are a nice touch!

I'll tell ya TB, my wife and I owned a 67 CS Wagon and it was really really a nice car. I bought it in 1975 burned out under the hood, rewired it, new hoses, brakes lines, carb etc, put on a new hood, repainted the nose and that was our daily driver for several years as the kids seemed to be multiplying on us lol ! My wife loved the dual action tailgate. She was very short so appreciated being able to swing it out not just drop it down.
Never was much on Edsels but what a great job the OP did on this wagon !
I didn't know Edsel made a wagon! That is one cool looking vehicle, and you did a great job in building and painting it!
I remember when the first Edsels came out in 1957, to my sixteen year old brain, it was the neatest car ever! I tried to get my Dad to buy one, but no luck with that! He was in his Buick mode, at that time.
Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...
That is an absolutely gorgeous model of an absolutely hideous (IMHO) car. Your workmanship far exceeds that of the folks that built the 1:1 version all those years ago.
