This is such a great kit that I had to build it twice.

Hi Dan, great job and it looks beautiful!!! especially with the weathering on the back and wiring in the engine!

Thank you! I actually also added a dot filter to the black one, but it's very subtle and can't be seen well in the pics. I wanted both of them to look like someone's beaters that are more about performance instead of good looks!

hi Dan,

you did It just right, not too much but subtle enough so that I could see it even on these photo's. I can understand your trade off between a perfect car and a actually used car (which may be even more realistic after all). I recently build a 300 SL which I decided to make in a perfect/non-weathered state.

However, I also made a Porsche 917K prior to that model which I did weather! I do not want to Hijack your thread but I just want show what I did with my model Embarrassed

weathering can be beautifull, but I do warn you to watch out with removing dot filters since it might damage your clear coat.

kind regards,

Nout van der Sloot

I never consider it hijacking, I love it when others share their builds! I love those Porsche 917Ks and I need to add one to my stash soon. I can also build clean, it just depends on what strikes me at the time. This Chevy SSR and midget racer were built pretty much factory fresh.

Great stuff Dan!  They both look awesome.  And I dig the midget.

Thanks,

John

The midget is nice, but wow, what a challenging build only because some of the parts are incredibly fragile. I do hope that Revell Germany releases these again with new markings, I'd like to get my hands on another one or two.
