Hey;
Are you tired of stretching and cutting sprue for your stock car project Bubala? Are you tired of shaping sprue for exhaust systems, Fred? I am talking from the headers all the way back. Here's a way to solve those problems and I'll bet none of you thought of it.
When's the last time you went to a model train Show? probably never if at all right? Did they have a refinery onthe layout? You were looking at the secret and didn't even know it. Walthers is the name, Train details is their game. They have a Refinery detail set called an H.O.Piping Kit. Number 933-3105
In this kit are the following.Straight pipes with curves at one end-As long as a 1/25 scale car. Thinner pipes as well, of all shapes and sizes, Valves and Valve wheels(Nitrox anyone?) Large and Small. Yeah , there is some stairs and rails, but you can trade them to someone else. There's also the bridge that looks like deck plating if you are building trucks or heavy equipment!
Now here's the beauty of this kit.The different sized pipes can be used for a dead on correct Roll cage or Tube frame. Why? Well, there are four complete sprues in each package. The piece used for bridges( Standoffs ) from the ground can be cut and used as exhause brackets and motor mounts.
The multiple flange plates ( After removing the bolt heads) can be used for instrument clusters and the individual flanges fo single instruments.(Tach anyone?) Okay the list goes on. Check it out for yourself! P.S. Don't tell anyone I told ya okay?
