1/43rd resin kit by Starter.
I started on the body first and fitted the brass parts to it.  As clean as the casting was it still needs a good amount of attention.  But it's getting close to ready for paint.

The body is getting more fine tuning and light hits of primer so while that dries I tackled the rear wing, four pieces here… and counting.

Paint is on this one too… More Tamiya lacquer.

Like the 911, I hand painted the black details first.

The decals on this one are not quite as user friendly as the ones for the 911.  A little thinner and more brittle, and more sensitive to the same decal solvent.   A hair dryer is very helpful with these decals.
And it's not that they don't fit, I think it's more of an issue that the body is not as symmetrical as it looks.
No way to mistake this as a street car, but the graphics are clean nonetheless.

That looks super nice. How many kits do you have working at the moment?

Actively I have three right now since I finished the Stingaree for the FSM review.

But I may start something else when these are done even though I should be working on the Lola.

It's not uncommon for me to have several going at any given time.

The wheels are four piece affairs, all brass with PE centers.  The center nuts will be installed after the rims are painted.

All the decals have been applied. Many of them are oversized and the Goodyear for the nose was not included.  But I had an extra one from the 911 and while it too is a little oversized it doesn't really matter to me at this point.

Finished.
Not the best (accuracy) version in this series of 1/43rd Starter 966s.  But a pretty car for sure and a fun side project.

That turned out great.  Those rims are beautiful.  I've never done a 1/43 kit but I believe there is a wealth of subjects in that scale.  Perhaps when my shelves start to fill up ;)

Thanks,

John
