west RC211V

Gidday

Just a few pics of my Tamiya 1/12 West Honda Pons RC211V '02. I painted it with Tamiya acrylics and used microscale micro-gloss for the finish. The decals are Studio 27. The carbon fiber decals are scale motorsport. Let me know what you think.

This is my first attempt at photographing my models so they might not be great photos.

Aaaah, a GP bike! I feel I can breathe again! Big Smile [:D]

Very good-looking! Thumbs Up [tup] Like the CF pattern beneath the seat (2nd photo). Looks very authentic - what did you use for it?

I was looking at this decal sheet very hard. Will be starting the first of my two RC211V's in my to-build stack as soon as I've finished up decalling KRJR's Suzi (what a job!). One will obviously end up a 46-job! The other I'm wondering about this scheme or the Rossi "good-bye Honda" (Valencia) scheme. Another Telefonica scheme might be too much for my collection! Wink [;)] And I must admit, this does look very aggressive!

Great job!

Thanks mate,

This one was gonna end up a '46' job but some of the tamiya decals fried when I sprayed the clear over them so it ended up a '4' job. I've just finished a Telefonica Movistar RC211V aswell ('03 version). The CFdecals are Scale Motorsport plain weave in 1/12 scale. The CF pattern on the fly wheel cover is SM Twill weave in 1/20 scale.

Hey!!
Great shots! Very nice indeed!
It'll be good to see the RC211V in Rossi's colors.
And look what he's done at Welkom!!! A Yamaha has won a MotoGP race! I'm thinking that the combination of Rossi and Jeremy Burgess is going to be very hard to beat.

Cheers, LeeTree

Thanks for the feedback on the CF decals! What clear did you use to ruin the decals? At least now you have the excuse to get the '03 46 (with PE parts...) *evil grin*

As for Rossi - whatta boy! Amazing race at the front. Surely a nice M1 can't be too far off...? As much of a fan as I am, I am not sure it will go all that well for the whole year, though. Phakisa allways used to be a "Yamaha" track, untill you-know-who broke the Yamaha dominance and from there on... well, all tracks became Honda tracks. Just my 2c...

Check out RonGeorges' site, some pictures are in the motorcycle gallery. You can find the link in this forum.

NICE! Anybody know where I can get the carbon fiber decals for a decent price? I've ordered from Best1hobby before for some Gauloises decals, but they took forever. Any ideas? The decals look a lot better than X-18 "semi-gloss black".
