1953 Ford Victoria Finished
Posted by Olezippi on Friday, January 14, 2022 7:38 AM

This is the AMT 1953 Ford Victoria.  A lot of the work has already been done.  I changed my mind mid stream and decided to go with a white top.  The green paint is Anita's Dew Green and the white paint in Rust-Oleum flat white primer.  It was cleared with Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear gloss acrylic lacquer.  The chrome trim is bmf.

Nice two tone.  That 'lima bean' green looks great.  Sharp brightwork - are usinf bare metal foil for that?  Seems theirs adhesion issues with their latest.

Thanks,

John

Thanks John.  Yes, all the trim is bmf.  There are some issues with the bmf not wanting to stick.  its hit and miss.

Olezippi. I love that build the color is spot on. Tell me does that kit have a seprate chasis? How old is the BMF? it will lose stickyness with time.

Thank's Nick.  The chassis and floor pan are one piece.  From what I've been reading the folks at bmf know there is an issue as they are trying to get back with their original supplier.

Other than the outside mirrors I'm calling this one finished.

Very nice work. You put a lot into this build, that is clear to see. Nicely detailed engine /compartment, chrome strips masterfully done, detailed interior, beautiful two tone paint, and a tight looking assembly. Very nice. You should be proud of this. Yes

Beautiful work!  Those colors look great on that car and look period correct.  Your BMF work looks stunning.  What do you use for a final clearcoat?

This build is superb!  Cars from this era are a challenge to get "right" and you've ceratinly succeeded.  This example is an inspiration to me.

Your photos are very good too.

Thanks TJS.  I use Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Acrylic Lacquer for the clear coat.

Always a joy to see one of these 'Highway Patrol' -era vehicles (sorry, as a child of the TV age, that's how I'll always think of them) being crafted so beautifully.

Truly inspiring work...and a gorgeous color-scheme! BeerYes
