Instead of a V-8,I decided to use a straight 6 engine . dollface twisted metal
Mocking up the the body to check for stance,it has the lowered look I was aiming for..
Boy I would hate to follow that guy down the highway on a bright sunny day!

Went with a brown interior,an interesting feature of this kit is that the front bench seat is hinged to fold forward.I guess to store things or to have access to the fuel tank should a leak or sending unit issue arrise..
My imagination is seeing Tamiya clear blue over that chrome body. Or something.
Clear blue over the steering wheel thus far!
Installed the engine and had to make a long driveshaft!
I have some walnut veneer that I thought would be good for the truck bed.So I got my T square and triangle and cut the veneer into strips.Attached them with CA and will finish them with gloss Minwax Polycyclic .
Bed looks great!

Installed the exhaust system..
Mounted up the cab and bed to the frame and added a master cylinder,fender wells ,steering shaft as well as the radiator... shelby gt500 wallpaper
This is really a treat to watch it come together

Interesting project. Haven't seen a chopped 50's truck in sometime. I also love that you stuffed in the 6 instead of a modern V8, great work. The bed looks amazing too.
