I will assemble say the body completely then paint it. However with the chassis/interior/engine I'll assemble groups of parts of the same colour then paint them and then bring together the painted sub-assemblies as it were.

do you mean assemble the kit then paint it ?

i paint most parts then put them together

Bilbirk, Is this your first car kit? If so then yes painting the body seperate from the rest of the assembly is the normal way to do it.
