After market wheel set problems?
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, May 14, 2004 2:45 AM
Doing my first Rally car and have to get some after market wheels. Interesting that there are only four in a set when the cars allways carries a spare...
How do you auto professionals solve this matter? I would love not having to buy two sets....

He He its just like turning the clock back I used to Sprint and Hillclimb a monocoque Imp in the early 90,s we were so skint and could'nt afford a set of wets so we used to go out in the pouring rain on slicks, yep adrenalin IS brown!.Where are you based and what type of kit is it if its R/C we have a great car kit shop in Stafford uk they are called Bagnells models think they have a web site I remember they have lots of aftermarket stuff wheels tyres etc.

Of course I can't find any right now but I know I have seen wheel sets with five tire/wheel combos for rally cars.
I will use this time to vent MY frustration on not being able to get any 1/24 Snow tire sets. Or wets, or anything but ashphalt tires in the kit boxes! I know it took twenty years for the open wheel modelers to get wets but this is plain silly.
Check out some of the after market companies listed in SA and shop around on line Joel, you should find a few sets out there.

I know it's only rock and roll, but I like it.

Just new on the forum but would recommend checking into articles in Fine Scale on Resin Casting. It is quite easy and can help you to dupicate not only the spare but choice engine/transmission/intake systems as well as about anything else you can think of.
