clear FW24 question
Posted by pingtang on Thursday, May 20, 2004 9:05 PM
G'day

Just a quick question, I read somewhere that Tamiyas FW24 clear edition had templated carbon fibre decals. My question is what is the extent of the decals? do they cover all CF areas on the car or just some areas?

thanks

I was planning on getting that kit this weekend, anyways. So if I can lay my hand on it and no-one else knows for sure, I'll be sure to let you know!

*He dashes off to make some space for (just) one more box...* Wink [;)]

Okay... so it ended up being two boxes! Had to get (another) RC211V - this time the Camel one. A nice nreak in colour from the rest!

Anyways, got the clear Williams. I did not have all that much time to look at everything, but this kit looks great! Detail parts included, as well as a CF sheet. And a heck of a lot of patterns to be cut from that. I have not yet had time to look through the booklet (yep, not the ole fold-out-paper-thingy...) but I presume there should be enough CF for covering quite a few parts.

But, if that is something you want for sure, ask your supplier to open the box for you. And a friendly warning: I don't know about where you come from, but over here they slapped quite a price on this kit!

it covers all. most of the parts as i know for the original F1 cars. but some how for the manual that tamiya gave for this model, was a bit funny. coz it ask us to paint the outer part of the car eventhough its a clear edition. weird.. box stock, i bought it roughly for usd $ 40 and hell its expensive than the other tamiya cars. perhaps you can get a friend from Hong Kong, I heard they are selling it cheaper than japan.
