Testors 1/6 scale 426 Hemi
Posted by J-Hulk on Sunday, June 20, 2004 12:45 PM
At the LHS today I found a big square box marked "TESTORS" filled with a big 1/6 scale metal "kit" of a 426 Hemi engine.

Anybody know anything about this kit? It looked decent on the box art.

I'm a big fan of all things Hemi, but at about $60 USD I am hesitating.

Of course, if I got it, I would have to scratchbuild a 1/6 Cuda to put around it...Wink [;)]

There are several 1/6 engine kits including the Liberty Classics Ford 427 SOHC, Chrylser 426 Hemi, Chevy 350 Small Block, and a 1963 L-84 Corvette 'Fuelie'.
All are priced under $25 USD here.

Hello J,
I built the 426. I paid about $20 for it. I wouldn't pay $60!!! The directions were garbage. But it was a quick and stress free built.. For $50 you can get the new Visible 426 Hemi that actually runs off batteries from the micro-mark catalog. I don't know if they ship overseas. I could check for you, if you want? I would pay $60 bucks for the visible that just got released from Testor's but not the one your talking about. I just wouldn't want you to be disappointed.
Cheers!!!! Smile [:)]Cool [8D]

Zoiks!
Well, as you all can see, the tables are turned here in Japan! Tamiya and Hasegawa are cheap, and Testors, Italeri, Airfix, and Revell-Monogram cost an arm and a leg.

That visable Hemi sounds cool! But if it's 50 bucks over there, it'll probably be over 100 bucks here.

Thanks for all the info, guys!

The world smallest table saw for micro-cutting for $109.95, for crying out loud!!!! It's truly remarkable stuff and I will be amazed if you can resist buying anything from them. Anyway here's their web site: www.micromark.com Since your out of the states their phone # is

Hulk, I forgot to tell you. The CSR said that they won't be getting any of the Visible V-8 until another month or so. So currently they are out of stock. They have the 426 you were origanally speaking of for $19.95 Closeout. I quess when the new gets there they'll be through w/ that kit!!!! Just wanted you to know. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]
