Dodge Rampage and Plymouth Scamp trucklets
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, July 29, 2004 12:50 AM
Does anyone know if these little Chrysler trucks were offered in model kits? I have tried to find them without any success, so it's time to ask. Normally I'm an aircraft guy so I'm hoping I just missed 'em somewhere. Someone asked about building models of our trucks on our Shelby Dodge list and the response was good but no one turned up a kit anywhere. Here's a picture of one exactly like the one I have, let me know your ideas. Dan Rakos
well, I can't figure out how to put the picture here, any help on that, too?

As I recall the Rampage was based on the Dodge 024. You can get an MPC 024 kitI saw one at HobbytownUSA in Buffalo, N.Y.(on Sheridan) , the Silver Bullet, I think it was called for $13.00, a cheap start. From there, it shouldn't be too hard to scratchbuild the rear interior, or modify a cheap ElCamino kit.

OK, that's a start anyway. I thoght there must be some kits made in that family of cars. The Dodge 024, Shelby Dodge Charger, Plymouth Turismo all have the same front end as the Scamp & Rampage. I'm going to keep hoping though, as the idea you suggested is possible but these kits would be used by real car guys, not model builders in general. I might be able to pull it off for myself though. Thanks a lot., Dan
