mkish,

I have the Fugimi Ehthusiast series Ferrari 365 GTB and I wish I could build it to the level this kit is capable of! Absolutly one of the best kits in 1/24 I have seen. I am really thinking on what is the best kit I have seen based on kit quality, not subject matter. I tend to overlook some "issues" if the kit is something I have wanted or has never been done before. A good example was the MPC 1/16 Cobra 427. No one had done a 427 before as a detailed kit, however there were several problems with the kit-no oil cooler scoop on what was supposed to be S/C model, the Halibrand wheels were the same front and rear whereas the real set has very different contours on the rears. I could overlook these flaws as it was a kit that was long wanted but in retrospect I don't understand why it wasn't done right. I even have pictures of the MPC guys measuring and photograhing the real S/C they used as a sample-how did they miss these items?

Rick,
- I bought a couple of the older Fujimi 'enthusiast series' kits and was really impressed with them. I didn't realize at the time, but apparently this was a line of 'super-kits' that has all kinds of extra details and various items.
- Any of the Tamiya F1 kits are really nice and fun to build
- Any of the Tamiya motorcycle kits are very detailed and also fun.

I haven't really hit any 'stinkers' yet, but I'm sure other people will have some good advice on those.

OK campers,

What are the WORST, the BEST, and the best remembered auto kits in your lifetime?

i.e. what kit did you bring home, rip open and scream "OH CRAP!!! I got screwed again!!!"
What kit did you open up and say "WOW, this rocks!!!!

What kit comes to mind when you go to the "warm, fuzzy place" and mommy was making you a cup of hot cocoa?
I am gonna think on this one and post my results soon.

Basically I want to know what NEVER to spend my money on and what is a bargain at twice the price.

I have a couple of kits that come to mind when I walk down to the basement (always had a table in the basement, from youth to married days) and create a pleasent, comforting memory.....They may not have been the best but do bring good memories back.
