Plans for balsa model LeSabre concept car

You might inquire at the Sloan Museum in Flint, Mi to see if they have any info archived. I have some pics on a disc somewhere of some Buick concept cars. My Dad who is a retired GM employee and Sloan Museum volunteer, took me on a tour of the annex where many of the old concept cars and materials are stored away. I took quite a few pics of the cars there. Most of my pics were of the Wildcat II but if I can find the discs I check through those as well.

Franklin Mint makes a 1/24 diecast model of that car if you're just interested in building one. You could use it as a starting point to get the measurements, unless their car would suit you!

i remeber seeing a kit of this model of the Le Sabre concept car in kit form by a company called Berkeley, who was noted for it's airplane kits. II did remember the above mentioned kit as well as an Allard racing car, and a Packard. Try the net or some swap meets, or car shows. Lastt November i saw a mint condittion Aallard at thhe Acme glue crew show in Smyrna Georrgia










keep looking, as a company called Berkeley made a rather primative balsa and metal kit in the mid to late 5o's. They are more known today for their airplane kits, however you can find these car kits occasionaly at model car shows and swap meets. Good luck in your quest. see you. the Humbrol man said that.

I don't know about a hobby magazine but when I was 10, which would make it 1955, my uncle gave me a model of the LeSabre. It had a balsa body and all of the external pieces (bumpers, windshield frame, side trim etc) were made out of zinc. I assume it was zinc now that I think back because it was a heavy shiny metal. I had it for a number of years and then it went the way of alot of models.
I couldn't tell you who made it but just that there is something out there somewhere in regard to the LeSabre.
