If I dare give two words of advice:
_ Italeri is well known for reboxing a lot of old kits ( ESCI for instance)
_Revell has recently reboxed a significant number of Hasegawa kits of aircrafts. There was a joint venture on Arado 234 between them ( one made the twin jet version and the other one the four jet version) and even some Revell kits are sold in Japan under Hasegawa brand
So to say that as HistoryinScale said : compare by yourself with equivalent boxes aside and the answer could be obvious.
Sorry for the aircraft references but I'm an aircraft addict and I only came here to visit.

Thank you all for coming José

Revell and Italeri kits aren't the same. Well they might have copied one another...but they're not the same. They are both two seperate entities, owned by 2 different parent companies.

Thanks for the good advise, which I shall follow. Which one do I choose though, in order to compare? Decisions, decisions. LOL

it depends what your looking for. example: a revell car kit is cheap, easily built, and usually look great when done. a tamiya kit is expensive, takes a great deal of different paints and skills to do some of the newer kits but they look unbelievable when done. i have heard good of revell truckes though, try one.

If you like something I would recommend sticking with it if money is a major concern...However how will you know if you don't try it. Buy a Revell of something you've already built in an Italeri kit and build it to compare the two, that after all is really the only way you will be able to find out the answer.

Someone could tell you YES, it's worth the extra cost, but that is just thier opinion and you might find you dis-like Revell...

About the only thing I could think of to suggest for ya...hope it helps some.

Worth the extra cost?

I have always used Italari kits for my trucks (and have been very satisfied with them) but I notice that there is a also a corresponding Revell kit for every single one. However, they are always 15 -20% dearer. My question is - is Revell 15 -20% better value/quality or should I stick with Italari?
