Telefonica Movistar RC211V
Posted by Yamafreak72 on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 9:17 PM
Hey Gents,
Well, it's finally here. I got my Tamiya RC211V in Sete Gibernau's Telefonica Movistar colors and am looking forward to another great build of an excellent kit. I've already done Biaggi's Camel sponsored bike and Rossi's '03 Repsol job (the expensive one with the metal parts). I plan on posting pics as soon as I figure out how to get them uploaded from my computer. In the meanwhile, has does anybody seen decals for a Colin Edwards (#45) Tele/Movi RC211V? I looked around the net (Best1hobby etc.) and haven't found any. Also, I know the Texas Tornado wasn't picked up by Gresini until this season, so what might I have to do the bike to mod it to an '04 version? I know that's a lot, but any help is appreciated.

If you want to do a Colin Edwards 2004 bike, I'd wait a while. Tamiya are bound to release a '04 RC211V sooner or later. It'd be much easier than converting.

As for changes, later in the season, all the Honda bikes got a new exhaust configuration (I think Barros first used it ate the Sachsenring, and it got introduced to the other bikes later.). You can tell by the way the upper exhaust exits are more faired in, and the lower exit doesn't have the big silencer on it (they actually used this late in '03, but it's not in the kit.).

Here's some pics comparing the two bikes:

hope this helps.
