How do we get photos on this site
Posted by Martsmodels on Sunday, October 24, 2004 3:19 PM
Is there an underground organisation preventing us from posting pictures on this forum?? Some people seem to be 'in the know', and they presumably have their own website - others seem to be able to copy and paste links.
Call me 'stupid', and I probably am, but it defeats me! (and I have been working with computers for 30 years). I don't get this problem with any other sites so why the problem with this one??? Most frustrating>!!!
Can someone let me into the secret?? - I only want to COPY and PASTE a LI NK but even that seems impossible!!!!!

It's really simple with a free Photobucket account. Upload your digital pick to their site, copy IMG “address” and paste it here.

and viola, you’ve shared your picture on the forum.

If you use your own or another website to host your picture you must put the URL of that picture between the tag [ IMG ] & [ /IMG ] without any spaces. It looks like this with spaces

[ IMG ]http://www.scaleplanes.homestead.com/files/DCP02826.JPG [ /IMG ]

And without the spaces you get this.

It is explained better here

I've got a (FREE) Yahoo account which has a feature (which CAN be hard to find) called "My Briefcase" where you can post photos. The uploading process is pretty well self-explanatory and delightfully simple. I then just "copy" the line from my browser's address line, "paste" it into a post or reply, and it seems to work.
Hang in there.

Also some sites prevent direct linking (on their end not FSM's) in which case you have to provide a link instead of a pic.

If you go to the buttons above the text box the 4th button from the right will give you the
