Parts help needed!
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 6:50 PM
I need some help collecting some info so that I can order a part for a Kit.

I recently got myself the 1/6 Tamiya Harley FLH Classic with Sidecar, when to my horror I discovered that the kit lacks the side-stand and also is supposed to be build without mainstand. Banged Head [banghead]Banged Head [banghead]Banged Head [banghead]

Now there is a mainstand on the sprue that I think i will use(instruction sez to forget it), plus I would like to order the metal(methinks) sidestand.

Unfortunately i don't have instructions for any of their other Harley Kits anymore, so if anyone can tell me the kit and part number for the sidestand it would be greatly appreciated.

I would also appreciate a scan of the mainstand installation step, just the one panel will be fine.

Thanks in advance for any help/advise.

I don't know that much about ordering a full sized Harley with a sidecar, but I would think that with a sidecar one wouldn't really need any kind of sidestand unless you're going to build the model without the sidecar.

Normally the sidecar is easily detachable, so you still need the stands for when you don't use the sidecar. Also many sidecars are attached via a cv-joint style attachement and thus allowing a certain lean of the Bike for cornering.

The Kit has the side-stand bracket included and I am supposed to install it sans sidestand, which to me eye looks and feels weird.
