If I remember correctly, the MB flip was the 99 car, which was a completely different beast. The 97 car (CLK-GTR) was a v12, the 98 car (CLK-LM) was a v8, and the 99 car (also a v8 CLK-LM) was revised from the 98 with 'improved' aerodynamics.
If you want the 99 car, Black Box Resins makes a good one (no website that I'm aware of). For the 98, Sakatsu used to make one, but I'm not sure if it's still available. Check out http://www.islandcollectibles.net/products.htm for info on both of those.
