Just an idea...for a Group Build.

Last evening, while playing Need for Speed Underground (the greatest race game ever published), I was thinking that it would be cool to make a model in that style.
Than, I was thinking it would be even cooler to see a bunch of model cars in that style....Smile [:)]

So here's the deal... ANYBODY INTERESTED IN A UNDERGROUND / FAST AND FURIOUS Group Build ???

Suggestion for when to start the GB are more than welcome.
One remark : Musccle-car tuning, Hot-Rods and Street Rods are not allowed in this GB, we're strictly talking modern (mostly Japanese) cars with an attitude.

Why no hot rods / muscle cars? Never seen a full size Ford or Chevy with an attitude? Sounds like the same thinking that would not let a highly modified 69 Camaro compete against Ruf Porsches et al at a open road race in Nevada many, many years ago. Too non stock and modified equals too fast to catch!Isn't underground racing kinda run-what-ya-brung anyway? If the car car keep up with the pack, and is safe for the speed, bring it on! Let in some muscle cars to keep it interesting!

Now, in no way am I condoning street racing. Take it to and keep it at the track. Or on the PS2...

OK, done soap boxing.

I've got nothing against american cars or hot rods or muscle cars, but those cars are available in model kits, what I'm talking about is taking a modern day "normal" model, like for instance a Tamyia Honda S2000 or a Nissan 350Z, and tune it into a flashy streetracer style "The Fast and the Furious" or "Need for Speed Underground".

Don't get me wrong, I like American musclecars too, but were is the challenge when you can build one straight out of the box from. Besides in shows you often see those machines, but I've never seen a "underground"-type streetracer.

Btw, personally I keep it safe, I don't race either on the street nor the circuit (just don't have the cash for that kind of car Smile [:)] )

I guess parts like Fujimi spoilers, AM exhausts, Rims and Tires would be allowed??

Yes those would be allowed, as would be kitbashing, swapping parts etc... as long as the car remains regognizable and in the style of the movie or game Smile [:)]

This is kind of what I have in mind....

Anyway, if there are enough modelers interested for a GB or not, I already got myself a Tamyia Nissan 350Z. I'll just wait and see when and if other people join or not. I'll start building in January and by then I hope my problems with my camera will be sorted out so that I can post some progress pictures.

In this post I will add the modelers who decide to join me in this venture...

Good idea, depending on the timing I might be up for it (although I'm trying to finish my Sports Car GB at the moment and fancy doing another plane next)

If you call it a Ricer build, then that might give a better way of excluding American V8s and so on. Not that there's anything wrong with them, but from what you are saying, it should predominately be European/Japanese family/sports coupe cars in exotic colours, decals all over the place and spoilers, lowered suspension and big exhausts.

Might give me a good reason to destroy a Honda Civic or similar. Hmmmm Alclad flip paint too... Big Smile [:D]

Being that it is street racing you should open it up to Police cars too. Smile [:)] Really wild police cars like the ones that chase you in those games.

As long as the police cars are NOT the standard cruisers, but something more exotic, I have not problem with them (as long as they're not on MY tail)

However, the main aim is to have a bunch of exotic modern streetracers here.
