Brian, you never cease to surprise me. Cars? Seriously, another great modeling job, per your usual standards. Thanks for sharing a new side of your skills with us.

Well, I...dabble! Shy [8)](That car was done 10 years ago!)
Thanks for the kind words. Big Smile [:D]

It's funny...although I consider myself to be primarily a military/SF modeller, the only trophies I've ever won were for cars...I'll have to see if I still have any pictures of those builds!

I think once a year NASCAR comes to the Suzuka Circuit, which is about an hour's train ride from here.
We get NHRA drag racing once a year, too!

F1 is the most popular form of racing here in Japan. That and motorcycles!

I watch it most Monday mornings in New Zealand (didn't this morning cos I was off early to race myself). A great series. It may be just left turns (except for the road courses) but the pit strategy, the constant tuning of the car during the race and the driver control when 2,3,4 wide on a super speedway is awesum to behold.

Brian, I think you may be on the verge of loosing your GA boy status by not knowing Bills car. Laugh [(-D]

Great looking build. You should do more, but I imagine NASCAR is not a hot subject in Japan.

Ahhh, Bill Elliot! Thanks for that info.

Yup, it was a fun build, and the last car model I've built!

I do have a Sox & Martin Hemi Cuda in the stash, and I've been meaning to do up an AMT/Ertl Duster 340 as the old rod I used to drive and race way back when.
Gonna be hard not weathering a model...

Nice looking car. You should build more of them. I think thats a Monogram offering if i'm not mistaken. It's was Bill Eliotts ride in 95 for a special promo.

J-Hulk builds NASCAR, too! (Thunderbat)
Posted by J-Hulk on Sunday, November 21, 2004 9:13 AM
Howdy, NASCAR fans!
I built this Thunderbat for one of my ol' University of Georgia roommates, and I'll be danged if I can remember anything about it.
Was it Dale Earnhardt's car?

Here's a pic:

Also, can anyone remember whether this was a Monogram or Revell kit? I built it sometime in 1995.
Not being much of a NASCAR fan (I'm more of an NHRA kinda guy), I know woefully little about this car...I just remember that it was an easy build, and the decals went on fine.

Any help remembering what this was will be greatly appreciated!
