Request for a new JEEP WRANGLER TJ model. PLEASE READ!

Hello fellow modelers,
Yesterday I decided to write to Tamiya and Revell-Monogram asking for a new model of the Jeep Wrangler TJ. To those of you who are unfamiliar with the Jeep lineup, the TJ model is the newest edition to the Jeep family, it replaced the YJ (distinguished by it's square headlights) in 1997, and has been greatly improved since. Last year they released what is arguably the most trail-ready stock Wrangler ever - the Jeep Rubicon. Even more recently, this year they have elongated the wheel base and chassis to form the TJ Unlimited. Tamiya was the last to develop a 'recen't Jeep, and that was the YJ (which ending production in 1995).
Now that the TJ is into it's 7th year of production, I feel it is time to introduce the Jeep Wrangler TJ to 1/24scale modelers. (It surely deserves the spotlight!) I guess what I'm suggesting is that those of you who would be interested in this model reply to this message and say so. Any ideas or criticism welcome! When the replies have come to an end I will (or any of you may) send our replies to our favorite modeling developers (mainly Tamiya or Revell, I assume?) asking for a new model. Thank you all for your help and support in this matter!
Sincerely,
Jonathan

Somehow I very strongly doubt the interest of Tamiya would be piqued by this one. It does not really seem to be a subject that would have a wide international appeal. I for one am with you, as I'd love to see one. But if it were to happen, it'd probably be from AMT/Ertl

Yes, I see your point. Hmm... well, I guess we just hope for the best then!
Still, any comments are welcome!
Thanks again,
Jonathan

Hey man, I know what you mean about the TJ. Unfortunatley we will probably never see this in a plastic kit. The best we are going to get is the 1/24 Diecast Rubicon from Revell and I believe it was canned as well. The original release date was Oct but from what I have heard I think Revell dropped it from the line up. If they only knew who many Jeep nuts want to build a minature of thier own.

Tamiya did a YJ a few years back. Those square headlight Wranglers are discontinued and now go for a few buck on Ebay. That shows that there is an interest.

Maybe Tamiya can modify their YJ tool into the TJ.

I'll join you to write to Tamiya and Monogram. I'll also write to Trumpeter. They are a start up company and are always looking for new ideas for kits.

One point is that the Wrangler can be tooled up as the stock Wrangler, Rubicon, and Limited Edition olive drab versions.
