YZF500 Tech 3 pics
Posted by DanCooper on Sunday, December 26, 2004 9:12 AM
Although I haven't worked on it for a while, I still need to complete Tamiya's Tech 3 race bike.
Here are some progress-pics so far...

The only thing after-market that I used is the carbon-fibre decal.

Any comment or critic is welcome Smile [:)]

Hi Dan!
Seems like really nice progress! Really like the soft paint job on the frame and swing arm including very nice cf decalling. You've also done a great job with the flourescent yellow on the front fender, I'll watch out fpr progress on the cowlings.
Weather up the chain and you will have a great looking bike!
best regards
Joel

Looks great! How did you manage that finish on the frame?

Thanks for the kind words people.

Everything you see is airbrushed (except ofcourse the red glowplug thingies). For ease of masking I had cut-off the air-inlets, which are normally molded in one piece with the rest of the engine, after airbrushing I glued them back.
For the frame I used semi-gloss black (Model Master) and I airbrushed it in misty layer, no wet wet layer.
Next thing I will do are the exhausts, they are already airbrushed, and ready to install, pics will follow later.
