painting "Goodyear" tires
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, May 21, 2003 5:14 PM
I just got back into modelmaking and I have forgotten how to paint the raised letters on the tires. I know it must be simple, but I still haven't gotten it. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks, Greg

I use a fine white gel pen. Works like a charm.

Drybrushing acrylics works well also, especially on the really small letters.

I try to use white chalk, rub it on the lettering of the tires, then take a fine paint brush, and brush off any unwanted chalk, you may have to do it a couple of times, but it looks great, i just used that teqnique on my 67 mustang GT fastback

Try dry brushing with enamels and/or using a magnifine glass.
