Mc Laren M8 color question

No definately not unfortunately. I have had some especially mixed for me and I have matched it to a mix of Tamiya orange and yellow. I will try and find where I have put the proportions - it may take a couple of days.

I will follow this one closely as I'm in need of that particular colour myself for the same model.

OK Guys, as usual it was in the last place I looked!!

5 parts orange (x6) to 2 parts yellow (x8). I haven't tested it today but the McLaren 4 wheel drive F1 car that its painted in is very close to the spray can I got specially mixed. Hope this helps

McLaren Orange is indeed a tricky color. Fortunately, MCW Automotive paints (No. 2070), http://ourworld.cs.com/mcwautofinishes/ , makes a decent replica of the original. They sell the stuff in hobby size (1/2 or 1 oz., I believe) bottles. I've seen where one modeler found a pretty close match to a "Tangerine" color that was available on 94 Volkswagen Golfs.

Yeah!
I know about the MCW-colours but they're hard to come buy here in Sweden due to shipping regulations from the US. I've seen an acrylic McLaren orange on a German site as well, but it's much easier to go and get what my local LHS carries. Anyway, thanks for the reminder.

Sorry, tend to forget about little things like IATA dangerous goods regulations and others. I like the suggested mix given above...think I'll try it myself (if I can ever muster the courage to build my AM McLaren!)

As usual Niclas your build is looking good.

Somewhere I have a Tameo kit of one of the orange preseason cars (MP4?) and I know it also recommends a particular colour that is available in Europe in a spray can for touch-up on the 1:1 but I've got so much stuff in my model room that I couldn't get into the particular cupboard last night to find it. Probably won't be any use in Brazil anyway and it isn't stocked here in NZ either.

Good luck with your builds guys, I've always wanted to attempt the Accurate Minatures M8 but I'm sticking to 1/43rd as I already have the M8A and B as diecasts from GPM (OK but a kit would be much better) and the M6 and M8D (both Marsh Models - brillant kits) in that size.

Yes Niclas...I have the same problem here in Brazil...And Mark, almost impossible to find this kind of paint here, unless it is specially mixed for you, but as I don't have a sample it is harder...
