Need help finding patriotic Nascar decals
Posted by kaleu on Thursday, January 6, 2005 9:28 PM
Hello,
I've been asked by a friend to build a couple of stock cars that were painted in a U.S. flag scheme. I've been searching for decals, but haven't seen anything. Does anybody know if those schemes (from July 4th races?) exist in aftermarket decal sets? He mentioned Dale jr. and Tony Stewart but I haven't found anything. Thanks for any help.

The only flag car I remember is Kenny Schraders car.

Three Amigos makes the decals. You can find them at http://sites.nexusisp.com/lgsmirle/
When in doubt just build it. Mark http://www.ipmslivonia.org/ipms/

The best place for you to check is Southern Motorsports Hobbies.

www.smhracing.com

They are the most complete NASCAR supplier in the country (IMHO).

I took a quick look and saw the Michael Waltrip NAPA stars and stripes listed under the JWTBAM decals and I am sure that if you go through all of the decals or give them a call, they can tell you very quickly what they have and don't have...

Thanks for the tips!! Both sites have been very helpful. They gave me a few ideas for some builds of my own.
Thanks again.

I have seen the U.S. Army and National Guard cars, but my friend (coworker actually) wanted one of cars with the flag paintjob. Did either of the Army cars have a flag painted all over it and if so are decals available?

You may have to do it the old fashioned way and mask. I doubt there is a decal set made to cover an entire car. It would not be fun to try to set that decal anyways.

You can do it. Use some pictures for reference and mask out the design. Give it a nice gloss coat. I'm sure your friend would cherish it even more if it was a custom paint job.

Play that R. Kelley song "I believe I can fly" in the background and do your best work. Oh, and take pictures.......
