Getting windows to stick
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, January 15, 2005 6:36 AM
I normally don't build cars so keep that in mind. Cool [8D]
I'm building this Nascar for a friend and I am almost finished with it, but I am having trouble getting the windows to stick in place.
The windows fit into recessed areas on the outside of the car body, so obviously I have to use something clear to glue them into place, I have tried Kristal Klear but as soon as I touched a window it popped right loose after 24 hours of drying time.
The glue stuck real good to the painted surface (which I thought would be a problem) but came clean loose from the clear window part.
I went ahead and popped the rest of the windows loose (with no effort at all) and cleaned the KK from all the surfaces so I could try something else.
Suggestions??

Yes - try FORMULA 560 CANOPY GLUE. It's similar to KK but stronger. I got mine in England after a Google search. It's made by Pacer (CA) so you should have no probs finding it in the States.

Thanks for the info, I happened to have some Testors clear part cement on my shelf that I had forgotten about, I gave it a try and it bonded much better than the KK.
