help with a 1959 cadillac
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 11:01 AM
Hi everyone......I have a big problem. I am starting a 1959 Cadillac eldorado. It is 1/25 scale, and I believe it is the monogram model. I purchased it at a garage sale, as it was cheap and all the parts seemed to be there. The only problem is it has no instructions. This won't be a problem except the engine....so many parts!!!! Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get the instructions, or a good site for pics???
Thanks,
Sammy

Not the best pictures but it's what I could manage. I don't have a scanner so I had to use the digicam to do this. Anyway, it's the instructions for the '59 Eldorado convertible from Monogram and I should do the job even if you have the coupe.
Just follow the link and use it as you wish.

Hi ya proosen ...

Great idea Niclas ... and very nice of you too !!! I would have never thought of shooting pictures of the instruction sheet with a digital camera and posting them to a hosting site ... again ... great idea!

I took a look at them ... they came out great ... hope Big Sammy finds them and uses them ... Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Hey Proosen......THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I am taking a look at the pics right now. I really appreciate what you have done. I will keep you posted on how it turns out. I am going to "pimp" the car out. I have never done before, but should be fun. I'll post some pics after it is complete.
Thanks again....

I tried to get the pictures, but I couldn't get them big enough to see with enough details. I am currently trying to get them bigger without obscurring the details. I will keep you posted.
Thanks again...

Hmmm....if it doesn't work out I'll try to get you bigger pics with better quality. This was a quick work just before I went to bed. Keep me posted on the progress and tell me how whether it worked out or not.

Bigger pics would work better. I tried looking at them with my magnifying light, but no dice. I tried making them bigger on the computer, but they turned out too blurry (I couldn't make anything out). If you can try again, I would be indebted to you. I don't want to sound ungrateful for what you have already done, but if it isn't too much trouble, I would really appreciate another shot at it.
Thanks so much for your time, effort, and idea!!!

No probs!
I'll get on it this weekend, as soon as I have a moment of my own. Will have to get me a scanner soon, the old one didn't like the new PC....or was it the other way aroundBig Smile [:D]

Hi again!
I took some new pics of the instructions (need that scanner bad) and put them up on my fotopic, just follow the link to the Eldorado instructions among others.

Thanks again, Niclas. I got the instructions, and the model is coming along okay. I have discovered that I am missing a few pieces for the build (I guess that's what you get buying at a garage sale, but was only $1.00!!) The front axle assembly is missing, but I was going to modify (chop) it anyway, so I think I can build it anyway. The top was going to be the showcase anyway.
Thanks for all your efforts!!
