MTB, yeah, good clean fun! Good (albeit weird) combination of stress-relieving activities! We've had a very dry year and the trails are very hard, but had some welcome rain over the weekend. Looking forward to seeing some mud tonight! Most likely not something foreign to you...

Anyways, if I don't screw this up, attached a pic of the exhausts. Foil now neat, all is ready for the joining of the engin and the body!

You evil man, I did not mow the lawn, your fault... Did the engin bay's foil. I now realize why I was looking up to it! But it's done in rough at least, will trim the foil over the weekend. Reward: no, I'm not mowing the lawn tonight, I'm off on a long MTB ride!

If I haven't made mistake, the decals came with Hasegawa's 1/24 642 kit while Alain was packed in Modeller's figure in the year around 1992. The 641/2 was a 1/24 kit from Revell recently. So, that's why Alain has waited for almost 10 years! For the scale of 1/24, I don't have chance to do the engine and exhaust pipes in the level of details as you did.

I spent yesterday with an airbrush and a lot of self-imposed artistic freedom on my 641/2 exhausts.

One mistake, but apart from that all went well. To start off: I allready did the base silver. Then added gold to the curved parts. So yesterday I faught the good battle. I do not have access to allclad and al these nice stuff. So I used Tamiya X34 to try and get the reddish tinge, somewhat coppery. Worked for me.
What I did then, was the mistake. I used a little Metalizers "exhaust" for the weld-lines and the top entries into the engin block, which was oversprayed with Tamiya clear blue. I got a very nice enough effect, but feel the exhaust made it a bit too dark. But I will keep it that way, not all that bad. Doesn't look completely like silkworms, at least!

So, all in all, the technique is still a few from getting it 100% spot-on, but we're getting there! Tonight (maybe) for the tedious task of that foil... *Mutters to himself and wonder whether he should not much rather mow the lawn...*

Onto other stuff: Alex, where did you get the Prost helmet decals?

Great site Mark. We make similar stuff. I'm particlualry interested in the Mazda as that is one I had planned for later in the year.

Check out the Group Builds. There is one underway at presnt for rally cars so if you wanted to join in there is plenty of time.
