Looking for ref on Indy lotus
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, February 10, 2005 11:49 PM
I am rebuilding an old Testors "Those famous Fords" Jim Clark Indianapolis Lotus. The model is amazingly inaccurate and rather crudely molded. I am looking for any reference on this thing. Anyone ever seen pics or articles on the Lotus Type 38?

Scott,
You must have some reference to know it is inaccurate?
Is this the old AMT kit?
I know it's only rock and roll, but I like it.

I only saw some prints of the actual car available on ebay. Different decals, everything in the kit but the body is chromed (even the little Jim Clark figure), different exahust type--this is what I can see from the photos available on ebay. I'd like to see some engine pictures though. I suppose this is what I meant by reference. This is an old Testors kit. I've seen the AMT kit on sale on ebay for a chunk of $. This one I found at a garage sale.

When in doubt just build it. Mark http://www.ipmslivonia.org/ipms/
