RECEIVED: 1/12 BRE 240z conversion from Classicmodelsmuseum.com

Hello all,
Well, I finally recieved the transkit, after not hearing from them for a while. Just a little problem of communications. Overall, they seem like nice people.
After first inspection, it looks pretty good. Decals are nice. 3 carb setup in white metal. Very nice 6 pipe exhaust also white metal. Lots of parts. My only concern is the resin wheels/tires. They have a nice, detailed, TREAD. But I think the BRE 240z had slicks...at least at the US races. The wheels are indeed 4 spoke. But I thought they were more like 'coke bottle' wheels. The resin wheel has basically flat spokes. I wonder if they just leveraged some parts from another of their 1/12 cars?
Any ideas how I might convert them to 'coke bottle' style?
Any good photos on the internet of the real car? I've searched and searched, and have found very little on the 240Z...but found lots on they 510.
See ya.

Classicmodelsmuseum kits are made from polyester resin which is harder and more brittle than the polyurethene we're used to.

I've got a couple of their 1/12 Ferrari kits (330P4 Daytona spyder and 312P Sebring Spyder) and built the 312. It was a fair bit of work (had to drill 100s of rivet holes in it) but it looks pretty fine in the end. Only a precious few 1/12 resin kits fall together with a minimum of effort.

I'm waiting with baited breath for their 1/12 McLaren M8D! MMMMmmmmm McLaren.... I'll buy that the instant the kit's released.

I'd be interested in seeing the transkit up close.......just to see how easy it would be to make it look decent........

Cheers, LeeTree

I don't know anything about this conversion however I saw another on listed Ebay yesterday. I believe a guy from Mexico makes it. If it is the same one making 1/12 Porsche 917s I would stay clear of it as these are really, really, rough. Rene'

1/12 BRE 240z conversion from Classicmodelsmuseum.com

Hello,
I saw this item on ebay yesterday, but I was outbid. Also, the website and email does not seem to be working for classicmodelsmuseum.com.
Does anyone know anything about this company or this transkit? I actually started work to convert the 1/12 204ZG Safari to the BRE 240z racer, but gave up on it.
