Dan, good question - I`ve often wondered why they were called semi`s. The explanations given sound quite reasonable.
Over here in the UK they are simply known as Artics (Articulated tractor unit)

Euh, maybe a stupid question, but why do you call those SEMI trucks ? Overhere in Belgium those are called trucks.

See pages 4 & 11 of the Hobby Heaven catalog for some currently available truck kits: http://www.modelcarkits.com/hhcatalog48.pdf
There are quite a few semi's available, what are you looking for, Peterbilt, White, GMC cabover...got a pic you can post?
Here's one current release:

Oh yeah, all the parts for this semi tractor are included in the AMT Peterbilt Wrecker kit, too

Hi, I`ve just realized that the info I gave about eBay may not be correct (depending where you live), mine is eBay UK - yours may be different.

Hi Snow -Man, There are lots of model Semi trucks on the market. Italeri and Revell do loads of 1:24 scale and eBay have about 3 pages of them (Toys & Games > Model Kits > Trucks).
You don`t show where you are located but there are both European and US models to choose from.
