Cleaning lines off of rubber tires?

Try freezing them for while. Will make the rubber hard like plastic is and easier to sand.

Thanks Chris that worked out pretty well!! I still have to clean up the insides a bit.....I'm starting to think I've put more time into the tires than the body itself....lol

What i do is take the hobby knife and cut them off. Then i take the tire and rub it against some sand paper. Then if you want it back to being new looking add a clear coat to it.

I have this grindig stone for the power drill that I wrap tape around to adjust the size. Then I put on the tire just like on a rim and hook it all up in the drill and just make a little burnout on a piece of sandpaper. Works like a charm all the time, don't use to high speed though....let it take some time so you don't over do it.

I made a tool from threaded rod some nuts and rubber washers from my hardware store cost me about $2.75 to make.

I fold the tire in half...meaning fold it so that the seam is the highest point. Once it is held that way, I take a razor, the kind you shave with, and just shave the seam off. It works great, but takes a little practice so that you don't gouge into the tread pattern too much. BTW, this works best on the japanese kits with the soft type rubber like tires.
