STOP!
If you want the details to show then strip off the white primer and use a THIN coat of light grey automotive primer. You can buy a spray can of primer and spray some into your airbrush cup and spray it on the car body.
The reason for the STOP above, is that you plan on spraying laquer over an enamel primer. The primer will react (badly) to the laquer. If you keep the thickness of the paint down to "just enough" to cover, then your details will not be filled with paint.
