Yeah... if you looked up and saw one of those bearing down on you on the "Hell Drive" around Atlanta, he probably would appear blurry!! Shock [:O]

While attending college in Atlanta, back in the day, I kept my home state license plates on my car. Returning from a day trip to Stone Mtn, doing about 95 (and getting passed like I was standing still), a GHP officer pulled me over. (out of state license no doubt). When he came up to the car, I began acting all nervous, trembling voice and all, and he asked me if I was ill?

I told him "No sir, but I've been on this road for three hours and I can't get off!" "Every time I try, people cut me off and blow their horns and stick their fingers up at me... we don't have roads like this up in Virginia, sir, how do I get off of here?"

He patted me on the back and told me to calm down... "People drive crazy down here, son, c'mon, follow me, I'll get you on I-75 North... just stay on that and it'll take you right out of all this traffic!"

Wheeeww!!! Bought me a trip up past Marietta, until after dark, when I returned to my apartment down in Hapeville... but at least I didn't get one of those legendary Georgia speeding tickets! Shock [:O] (I didn't venture too far away for the next month either!)

Great What-If, Jeff! Thanks! Smile [:)]

Take care,
Frank

Your all heart, Jeff;Big Smile [:D] on the "Hell Drive", it's either try to go as fast as everyone else, or get ran over, and that's no joke! He knew that as well as I did

I've been pulled twice in 38 years of driving... I probably deserved a ticket that day because I was speeding, but honestly, I was the slowest vehicle in the whole group... heck, after he turned the lights on, it took almost two miles before we could work ourselves from the center lane to the shoulder!

I guess he knew the Georgia residents would be too hard to catch. Wink [;)] Big Smile [:D]

Take care,
Frank

Ahhhh, I probably wouldn't have wrote you the ticket. I can't believe you have only been pulled over 2 times. Man, I have been pulled over 6 times since becoming a cop and uhhhhh I lost count after 26 before then about 10 years ago. I am a cop magnet. They all must have smelled the doughnuts Big Smile [:D]. I got three tickets in the Communist state of Virginia

in three days back in 1997.Tongue [:P] Now here I am looking for all those VA troopers to come visit me. I guess I'll ask them if they remember me? I hope their answer is yesEvil [}:)]. The only thing I don't like about this model is where i filled in the sunroof and my putty shrunk. I spent three days trying to get that seam smooth.

The Georgia guys are really not as good as we are at catching the fast guys, so they have to pick on the slow guys.Big Smile [:D] I'm surprised he didn't write you for impeding the flow of trafficWink [;)].

Ewwwww!! Sorry those pictures really suck!! I'll try and get better ones later.

Yeah.... you have to watch your P's & Q's up there! I saw one walking up to a car he'd pulled over on 581 going into Roanoke one time, and he must have been 6'9", 275lbs, crisp uniform, and what I could see of his hair, it was snow white. I thought to myself... "I'm sure glad it's not me sitting there waiting on him!!" Shock [:O] Very imposing, especially when one considers that VERY few (if any) cases a Va. Trooper brings to Court are dismissed!

I honestly was! I guess the officer thought about how it would sound reading the charge to a Judge: "Mr. White was impeding the flow of traffic, your Honor... creeping along at 95mph!" Shock [:O] Cool [8D]

Frank
