Now I've done it...

Don't you love the feeling...?

That lovely one: the idea came to me, so went and did it. Okay , so I found out a few mods could not be done without making it look completely horrible. But it's the kinda stuff you really have to know about to even notice it.

Project is coming to an end. Body on, nosecone on, rear wing on - F1, btw. All that was left was wheels, mirrors and onboard cameras. Right-hand side: front on, rear on. Left-hand side: front... *clack* silence.

The first time this has happened to me. I just stared in disbelief. I presume one of the pieces of platic might have had a weak point in it, snapped and with the little bit of pressure you need to use to put on the wheel, the rest of the right front suspension was smashed. I just sat there, staring at it... wheel in hand, model in other hand, looking good, except for the missing right front suspension.

I picked up what pieces I could and started repairing. Went on this morning. Something small splintered off in the top wishbone, because it's too short now. At this stage I decided to only attach the bottom one and keep it still. Hopefully it will hold up and at least look like something... With a way out-of-camber wheel, it will really look horrible.

I am beyond consolation at this stage. What looked like it was goin to be a nice-looking model is now as good as ruined. Will patch it up as good as I can and decal it.

Just wanted to share this misfortune. At least I slept over it and is a bit calmer now!

waaaahhhh, I would have killed myself...or perhaps smashed the remains...or perhaps just made a fist in my pocket....I don't know. I'll go like Yoda: "Terrible it is"
Sorry for you SeaBee. Go make yourself a bike instead ;-)

yeah yeah, bike coming up! Wheels attach with screws, much better! Wink [;)] I might end up with a screwdriver in my thumb, the way it's going now, but that's okay!

That's too bad mate. I feel for you. I'm sure most of the users on here can understand how you feel.

Don't think it will be much of a consolidation at the moment, but that's one of the things that makes scale modeling all that it is.Sometimes brilliant, other times sh*t!

Hope you manage to sort something out.

I`m sure you don`t need to explain your feelings as most (if not all of us) have been there at sometime or other.
Even if you patch it up and it looks ok, YOU know it isn`t and all the satisfaction evaporates. Anyway, upwards and onwards as they say.

Got it looking like something when standing still. But nothing more. Yep, patched up just is not "perfect". Apart from that, added the camera. Mirrors still to come.

Will start decalling after the weekend. Still feel cr*ppy about it, though...
