Thanks for tips and sourses The sizes are especially welcome so I will now be able to get the right size wire from an eletronics shop, will also look into the fishing line as that sounds interesting for a "custom bike" I am building

Thanks for advice

Good idea, just that a GP bikes brake hose is smooth outside. Without any braided pattern. Just same like rubber hose.

lead core fishing line has a Dacron sheath that perfectly imitates a braided cable when painted.

I would say .6 mm is correct for brakes and clutch and .4 mm for throttle.

The real one actually doensn't review the patern of the braided hose under the protective jacket at all. Just go to electronics store and look for black wire which around .7 or .8 will be perfect. Don't bother to waste your time shrink wrap thoose hose.

Cupcai electronic stores sell a product called “shrink wrap”. Could one use the “braided wire” and then shrink warp the black covering leaving just the two ends of silver braid sticking out, similar to the real brake lines. If this could work, what size wire would be in scale? My calculations estimate about 0.8 mm diameter wire. Does this check out right?

The actual braided brake hose found on GP bike are covered with rubber skin. That means its black in colour, I'll use wire which thinner than what supply by tamiya to replicate it.

Recently drowsing HobbyLink Japan Cool [8D] came across some new products that look like they could be suitable for making braided brake lines found on the GP bikes, also came across something that looks like ribbed water hoses, typically on the older Yamaha YZR 750 kits.

Has anyone else see or used these products?
The full name is:
Stainless Cross Mesh Wire 0.6m
Spring Hose 3 mm (30 cm)

Thanks for any inputBig Smile [:D]
