HEMTT walk-around

Well, maybe not a walk-around - more like a very slow drive-by! First real chance I've had to get some detail pics of one of these beasts:

It is not a HEMMT. It is an M1074 PLS (Palletized Load System), based on the HEMMT truck, just longer and beefier. The back has a flat-rack that it can be off-loaded and another picked up to transfer supplies, artillery rounds, etc. It works simmilar to a large industrial dumpster that you see at construction sites that are loaded on and off a truck.

Man....even though it's not a HEMTT, it still brings back lots of memories...I spent many, many long, cold and lonely nights in the cab of the M978 when I was at Ft. Riley, Kansas....I was in an armor battalion so every time they went to the field, we went to the field....also spent some time in the M977's on ammo duty....
