I went to the LHS, and picked up an ERTL '71 Boss 351 Mustang. Looks like it should work.

Thanks everyone! I'll post pics as I'm building.

Revell 69 Shelby GT-500, most accurate 351C I know about, but that's 1/25 scale

All of those Ross Gibson engines look like Mopars. Found one forum posting somewhere where he talks about making some ford engines.

I'll keep looking. It might just be easier to build this as a curbside. Most of the models I've seen look to use a mix of heads and blocks, like 351W heads on a 429 block.

I forgot to add it's 1/24th scale...

I've heard that a 1977 Mustang II from AMT had a pretty good replica. I'll start going to the hobby shop and see what they have.

Thanks for the idea on the resin engines, I'll check it out too!

Try punching into the keyboard "ross gibson engines" . Mant of the popular web vendors carry his line of resin engines,& they are exceptional as well as being reosonably priced.I'm not sure if they make what you want, but it's worth a shot. Build on !!!

Two cars I know used that engine are the DeTomaso Pantera and the Sunbeam Tiger. You might look for a kit in the scale you seek.

Good Ford 351 Engine?

Hello all, I'm looking at taking Aoshima's Mad Max Interceptor, and building an engine bay for it (it's a curbside kit). So, that means I need a reasonable facsimile of a Ford Falcon XB. Doing some research, it appears that most of the XB's in the timeframe (around '73) used 351 Clevelands. What's a good, reasonably priced kit that I can get an engine and a few other things (battery, wiper fluid bottle, etc) for that era?

Or, is there a kit of the XB out there? What other things am I missing if I want to take a curbside kit and detail it out?

Thanks,
Dan
