Try doing a search on Google or other search engines. That's my first stop when looking for reference material. Other sources you could try would be used book stores and look for back issues of racing and car magazines that might have some pictures in them.

Your local newsstand should have a decent selection of NASCAR-related magazines, good for researching engine compartments and interiors. Also, your library and book stores should have some material that'll help. You may also get some help by videotaping some NASCAR shows that do behind-the-scenes looks at cars.

www.thunderplex.com has a lot of good pictures on just about any era car you want. you may have to navigate around a little to find the car you are looking for.
