Lookin' sharp ... especially the dash and engine details. Does it burn 92 octane?

Looks really good Ares. I particularly like the seats and the interior. What kind of paint did you use on the body?

tamiya black with model master clear over it. applied with an airbrush. still wish it were smoother. I just couldnt get it right. never figured out how the "mirror" finish is acheived.

Ares - before you apply the clear coat, try buffing out the finish with a polishing set. Use dry sand paper at 3200, 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000 and 12,000 grit (MicroMesh makes a good kit for not too much money). Finish with a Novus 2, then a Novus 1 polish. Use alternating direction strokes. Once you're done with the Novus, finish the entire piece with fine auto detailing wax. Meguires is good.

I think you'll get the finish you're looking for.

Nice work mate. The finish is pretty nice. With a bit of a polish, it would look even better. Thanks for sharing.

well I did 1500, 1800, 2400, 3200, 3600, 4000, then jumped to 12000 :/ but by the time I got to 12000 it was worn through in spots and the paint looks pitted.

I see the howtos that show people dipping canopys in future floor polish; wonder whatd happen if you did that with a whole body :p. come out nice and smooth?

Ares - 1500 and 1800 are far too course for finishing. You want to start at 2400 (minimum). Also, jumping from 4000 to 12,000 really killed you. That's too drastic a jump. The 12000 grit paper doesn't have enough teeth to polish out the 4000 grit rubbing. Start with the higher grade, make sure not to skip any grades and always finish with the Novus. You'll be very happy with the result.

the semigloss black is on the inside rim; and outside weather strip bottom; but in the angle of the shots you cant really see it; look at the very tip fo the drivers side and you can see it peek out.
