Wire Wheels 1/24 '50s race car
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, June 29, 2003 9:33 PM
Hi Folks,
Thanks for all the great tips, suggestions, answers and rescues I've gotten form you in your posts. Now I need help again:

I'm about to start a pair of 1950 race cars - A Lago-Talbot and an Alfa Romeo - and they both need wire wheels and rubber tires. The kits are from SMER in Czechoslovakia and are very crude and rudimentary, with two-piece plastic tires and clear plastic discs with etched lines for the wheels. I'd like to use vinyl or rubber tires and proper wire wheels. I've seen people ask about these before, but haven't been able to find anything on-line for the '50s race cars.

Any help out there? Thanks,

Glenn

Try www. detailmaster.com They have photoetched/machined alluminum Borrani wire wheels in a couple of widths that may be what you need. They have two types that are intended for 1950's race cars.
