AMT Pro Shop
Posted by Archer1 on Saturday, July 16, 2005 10:14 PM
Hi guys -

I picked one of those AMT Pro Shop kits a while back, and finally decided to open the box. They really did these models up, there's very little detail painting to do, maybe a little weathering, if you're so inclined. Great detailing, on the plastic too. Decided to wire the engine and that looks pretty good too.

Only problem - EVERYTHING IS PAINTED, and quite well. There are just some parts that are too small or delicate to scrape the paint off of. I'm using CA on those, but this quick build is turning into a nightmare. Any suggestions to either getting the paint off the glue surfaces, or another way around it?

Tks

Archer out.

I use Castrol Super Clean (in the purple container) to strip old paint off aircraft that I have bought built-up.Big Smile [:D] If your careful, you could maybe brush a dab on what you want paint off of, maybe mask around the area first. I wouldn't leave it on there very long and be VERY careful not to get it on any part of your own body!
